The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) offers the means to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) in as short as two weeks! We can boast an almost 100% pass rate since the opening of our IDC Center in Koh Tao, in the year 2000. We achieve these high results mainly due to the intensive preparatory nature of the course and the enthusiasm and commitment of our skilled Staff Instructors and Course Director. What to Expect in Your IDC?

Our course runs over 15 days and covers the three aspects of scuba instruction – Academics, Confined Water and Open Water training – as well as some pre-IDC preparation and post-IDC mock examinations, where you have the chance to go through the IE as a training session before it counts for real.
 

• Preparation Days – 4 days – Helps you brush up on your divemaster theory and skill demonstration
• Assistant Instructor Course – 4 days – The IDC begins
• Open Water Scuba Instructor Course – 5 days – Covers aspects of scuba training beyond Assistant Instructor level
• Mock Instructor Exam – 2 days – Gives you a taste of the real thing

The final leg of the journey to becoming an Instructor is the Instructor Exam (IE), run by external PADI examiners. Our IDC course is timed to allow for a full day’s home study and preparation prior to the IE. However, should you require some additional tuition, our Staff Instructors will be happy to help you in any possible way. It is our joy when we see our candidates pass the IE and we will always do our best to keep our success rate as high as it is!
 

Courses you are qualified to instruct as PADI OWSI:

In addition to the Divemaster conducted programs that you are already qualified to teach, once you have passed the IE and your teaching status has been confirmed, you will be able to teach the following courses:
 

• All entry level diving courses (Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water etc.)
• Children friendly diving courses (Bubblemaker and Seal Team)
• Continuing education diving courses (Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster)
