About the PADI IDC on Koh Tao

The PADI IDC program in Koh Tao consists of two parts, the PADI Assistant Instructor Course (AI – four days) followed by the Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor Course (OWSI – 5 days). Prior to the start of each IDC program on Koh Tao we run Prep courses to brush up your Divemaster theory and skill demonstration quality, and we also give you an thorough introduction on how to organize Pool or Classroom sessions. During the 12 days of the IDC we have time to work together and make sure that you are well prepared to pass the PADI Instructor Exam (IE – 3 days). Our well planed instructor training preparation courses are the reason why, Guy Corsellis and his team of Staff Instructors can maintain their extraordinary high success rate, which is amongst the highest PADI IDC success rates in whole Thailand!

The prerequisites to participate in the PADI Instructor Training are:

• Be certified as a PADI Divemaster ( or hold an equivalent certification from any other Scuba Diving Organization)
• Be at least 18 Years old.
• Be certified as an entry level diver since at least 6 months, and have logged at least 60 dives.

Prior to certification as an Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor (OWSI) you will have to show:

• Proof of 100 logged dives, and show proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
• A medical statement signed by a licensed physician, stating you are fit for scuba diving.
